"HAPPY CHRISTMAS HARRY! HAPPY CHRISTMAS RON!"

So... Christmas is in 4 days! ☃πŸŒ΄πŸŽ…πŸ»πŸŽ„πŸŽ I hope everyone is having a fantastic break from school and that no one is freezing. My challenge to all my little friends (and big friends for that matter) is to build a missionary snowman and send me a picture. Whoever builds the best one wins!
I sent Christmas cards to a few people but there were a lot of people I didn't send one to. I ran out of time (I am only allowed to mail things on Mondays before 5:00) and cards and I'm super sorry if I missed you, BUT I will send our pictures we took so just know that I actually do love all of you a WHOLE BUNCH!

Being a missionary at Christmas time is so much fun! First of all, just about everyone here in the Bible Belt loves Jesus so it is the best time of year to get people to listen to you. Second of all, you get lots of mail AND you get to skype your family which makes a missionary's soul happy, and Third of all YOU GET TO TALK ABOUT CHRIST ALL THE TIME! This month I have really focused my studies on Christ's life and it has been so fulfilling! I've been reading Jesus the Christ (I'm in chapter 20) and watching all the bible videos (check them out on lds.org) and studying His life and teachings in the Bible and Book of Mormon and listening to all the Christmas music by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. It really has brought so much more meaning to the word "Christmas" and I love it. Also, if you haven't been to Christmas.Mormon.org yet you should scurry on over there after you finish reading this email. #KeepChristInChristmas

Fun events

So here are some of the fun things that have happened recently and are happening in the future!

On Tuesday I taught one of the boldest lessons I have ever taught in my mission life. We have an investigator that is married to an inactive member and he was telling us all of the concerns he has with the church which were actually all concerns he had with people in the church rather than the church its self. The whole time he was talking the spirit just kept telling me to testify... Then as soon as he was done talking I very boldly said "Maybe they did make mistakes, the people in the church are not perfect, but the church is perfect. And we can know of its perfection by reading the Book of Mormon and asking God if it is true. Will you read the Book of Mormon and ask God?!" And then we all just sat in silence and let the Spirit simmer as he thought about it. Ahh It feels so good to testify of truth.

On Friday we went to the big Christmas Devotional that was for the whole mission. There was a program with lots of musical numbers and speaking parts and then they had a social that was really fun because I got to see all my missionary friends in one place and it just made my soul happy. It was so fun to hang out with Sister Guynn and Sister Mohenoa who were my last companions. I also saw Sister Brown who was one of my MTC companions as well as Sister Prows and Elder Anderson who are both from my home stake (YAY LAYTON CREEKSIDE STAKE!) and Elder Dummer that is one of my friends from HS and ALL of the other missionaries I've met and become friends with while I've been out in the field!

On Sunday at church we had an amazing Christmas program in which we got to help with reading Christmas quotes in between musical numbers. I talked about it on my voice recording so you can listen to it there if you want. BUT WE HAVE SO MUCH AMAZING MUSICAL TALENT IN THE DAYTONA BEACH WARD! I was blown away.

Today we had beach P-Day!!! πŸŒ΄πŸπŸ”†πŸ‹πŸŒŠ we got up at 5:15 and headed to Flagler Beach with the rest of the district and watched the sun rise over the Atlantic Ocean. Even though we couldn't play in the water it felt so good to have sandy toes! I'll send lots of pictures! It was BEAUTIFUL and such an awesome reminder of the beauty God has given us because He loves us. #ChristmasInParadise

We are also going caroling with a bunch of people tonight and on Friday I GET TO SKYPE MY FAMILY!!! I am so excited you have no idea. On Saturday we are feeding the homeless again like we did last month.

Out of context quotes:
"I've conquered mediocrity."
"An apple a day keeps the doctor away if you throw hard enough."
"Santa has a 6 pack..."
"They rode an elephant and they taught him the restoration."
"Joseph was praying in the garden of Eden."
*praying at 5am* "Heavenly Father... I'm so grateful that we get to go to the moon today... I mean the beach..."

I apologize for sending such a spastic email today but I just am so excited about so many things!
This Christmas I am so thankful for everything God has blessed me with including the best friends and family a girl could ask for and the BEST mission out there. God bless the FOM. <3
I love each and every one of you and I wish you all the happiest Christmas you've ever had. I love each of you to the moon to Utah to Florida and back.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

You've got all these things floppin around...and I'm not sure if they're your cool gymnastics muscles or if they're something that needs to be worked out"

 Dec. 14, 2015

So I am doing really good!!

This week was a slower week but still good!
Last Monday we had dinner with the Mills family... The dad is the lead singer in Jericho Road if you've ever listened to them. They are one of my favorite families in our ward! They have lots of kids and they just love the missionaries.

Tuesday We taught a lesson to Sister M our  less active.  She is actually really cool and it was a good lesson. We also helped Sister Christensen make flower arrangements for our ward Christmas party. That was really fun! I'm pretty much a professional florist now... (that's actually a lie.. I'm not.) But it was fun!

On Wednesday I met our new investigator that they found while I was on exchanges last week. Her name is J and she is this awesome red headed lady from Scotland! She is heavily Catholic and has a lot of hurdles to get over but she is really fun! We also taught a lesson to one of our less actives but she was drunk when we went over there so we showed her a video and left. haha She is one of the nicest ladies and even nicer when she's drunk. We also had dinner with a lady named Jackie who is one of the elders recent converts who is my favorite little old lady! She is convinced that I'm going to marry the elder that baptized her... hahaha she shows me pictures of him every time she sees me. It's hilarious. We also had coordination on Wednesday night and Sister Nelsen didn't feel very good so she didn't have a lot of fun.

On Thursday we had ZTM (zone training meeting) and that was really good!! I love our meetings because #1 you get to see lots of other missionaries and #2 I always feel like I learn SO MUCH! After ZTM we had a sisters meeting with the STLs and that was really good. They gave us cute Christmas presents with candy and baby Jesus Christmas ornaments because they are awesome! After that we had lunch with the entire zone at this awesome Mexican food restaurant!! It was AWESOME! Later that day we taught B who is our 9 year old recent convert that I LOVE! She is my favorite person we are teaching. Her and her 12 year old brother LOVE the gospel and are already saving up for their missions. They are so cute. We also taught the H family who are a less actives that are really hard to teach. But they are doing good.

On Friday we had weekly planning and then OUR WARD CHRISTMAS PARTY!! We had lots of people come! B and her brother and mom came and the bible referral I told you about last week that we scared really bad came and brought her aunt and one of our recent converts brought THREE of her friends!!! It was so awesome!

We also had a crazy moment at the party.... so there is this crazy lady in our ward that apparently doesn't like us very much.. they were playing the 12 days of Christmas and Sister Nelsen and I weren't singing loud enough for her. So really loudly she says "WE"VE GOT BAD SISTER MISSIONARIES... THEY WON'T SING ALONG.... HOW DO WE DUMP THEM?! WE'VE GOT BAD MISSIONARIES!"
We just laughed about it because everyone knows she is crazy and the ward actually does like us. The bishop was sitting right there too. Good times. hahahaha
On Saturday we met with some less actives (Sister T, Sister T, and Miss M) and then we had ice cream with Elder and Sister Corder.

On Sunday we taught Young Women’s and it went really good! We also went to one of the Mill's little girl's (Mariah) baptism and that was fun! I just love baptisms! We also met with Y our investigator that is a preacher. That was a tough lesson (because she's a preacher...) but she really likes us!

Today we went shopping and bought lots of healthy food!!!! And then I recorded a voice recording that is too big and now we are emailing!!!

This week is going to be so fun! We have lots planned including our huge mission Christmas Devotional/social where we get to see all the missionaries in the whole mission!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!

Ahh Life is good.
Okay for my spiritual thought today I want you all to pull up D&C 86:5 and read it! And then I want you to look at the date and realize where you were when this revelation was given... YOU WERE ONE OF THE ANGELS IT WAS TALKING ABOUT!!! And for all my missionary friends (and everyone for that matter) you are literally fulfilling that scripture because you are harvesting the white fields RIGHT NOW!!! HOW COOL IS THAT!

Okay that's all from me. I love you all to the moon and back!

"Does that work for you?" "That's why we go to restaurants... They work for us.

December 07, 2015
Hello!!!

So I totally recorded an awesome voice recording today but I left the cord for my little device at the apartment.... AHHHH! I'm sorry my peps.... I will send you one someday. haha
First of all Sister Nelsen and I made a Christmas card that I want to send to everyone. So PLEASE send me your address if you haven't already. And mom if you could help me by sending me extended family's and family friends addresses that would be awesome!
πŸŽ„πŸŽ We wish you a merry Christmas we wish you a merry Christmas we wish you a merry Christmas and a HAPPY NEW YEAR! Everyone needs to go check out Christmas.Mormon.org RIGHT NOW (after you finish reading my email) and watch the video A Savior Is Born and then share it with each everyone on social media and in person! Also, there is an invitation at the end that says to "#DiscoverWhy" so I want you all to email me back and tell me how YOU are going to Discover Why!
And as far as Christmas decor goes I bet you're all happy to know we have a Christmas tree that's taller than me and I found about 20 stockings in a closet so I decided to hang them up all over the apartment. I'm pretty happy about it!
How is everyone doing? Grand I hope!! I am doing really well and am loving this beautiful Florida weather this Christmas season! It got a little chilly the other day and we had to put on cardigans... Hahaha but it really has been lovely!
We had the opportunity to watch the First Presidency Christmas Devotional last night at the church and it was SO GOOD! It was exactly what I needed and I am so excited about Christmas now! If you haven't watched it you defiantly should! You can find it on lds.org or YouTube.
So... fun parts of this week!
We made an awesome first impression with a media referral where we startled her super bad. She had requested a bible so we were going to drop it off and we knocked on her door but she didn't hear us. She was talking on the phone but we thought she was talking to us when she said "wow! It's chilly outside!" and we laughed because we thought she was talking to us. Then she came to open the door to see how cold it was and we were standing on her porch and we scared her so bad she screamed and then let us in and now we are teaching her!! Haha she is so awesome!
We met the oldest lady in the Daytona Beach Ward. She's 95 and has no teeth and lots of cats. She is so awesome! We walked in and she said "the worst part about being 95 is I'm not going to see that German guy (President Uchtdorf) become president of the church because he is good looking if you know what I mean.." She also told me I had stylish hair because it wasn't "twirly" (curled).... Haha good times.
We spent some time on the inlet this week doing some finding and I walked the width of it a few times! It is so pretty out there and very fun to see the ocean even if it is from a distance! We are practicing being bold and talking with everyone! We got some good practice this week. We also enjoyed the palm trees a great amount!
We went on exchanges this week! Friday night the STLs came over and we all went and visited with the Corders (the senior couple that live below us) and they bought me peanut butter cup ice cream because it is my favorite and the Corders are awesome so we all ate that and then I went to Port Orange and spent the night there and then worked with Sister Hales all day! Sister Hales taught me how to be super bold and talk to everyone! (Including people we pull up next to at stop lights... Car contacting is AWESOME!)
I also got about as close as you can get to standing on a soapbox and preaching to a crowd. We were at this ice cream place called Ritters and there were a group of people waiting in line and Sister Hales started talking to a few of them and before I knew it I was testifying of the Book of Mormon and had like 10 people standing there listening to me... IT WAS AWESOME! It was super nerve wracking and not my first choice when it comes to contacting methods but it made me feel like the early missionaries of the church who would do that all the time. So fun!
Sister "P" is doing good and still loves everything we teach her. We are working through a few issues right now, but it's going good! We also have a few other people we are working with and they are doing good!
I am doing good and I PROMISE I will actually get a voice recording out next week. I'm slack-a-lacking... ahhh!
I love you all to the moon and back and I hope you have a fabulous week and a great start to your Christmas season!
