"Did you just quote Satan?"

Remember how once upon a time I was in DeLand and we had an apartment infested with sugar ants? Do you remember that Sister Larsen? Well I just sprayed a whOLE HECK OF A LOt of ants dead and I feel like I'm watching that one part in HP where Dobby says "history repeats its self."

Oh so do you also remember how I turned 20 yesterday and ate far more cake than should ever be consumed. God loves me so much. ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‚ I had two birthday parties. #Blessed. Also Thanks for the birthday emails!

So here's how my week went...

So Monday I was runnin' around every where with my bff Sista Simpson because it was our last day together. We went to Aunt Catfish's ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ  we also got priesthood blessings from bishop and frosties ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ and we went to the Biddles for dinner... k so do you want to hear How funny the Biddles are? So we pull up to their house and it starts to dump from the heavens and we're all standing on the porch like "this is what it looked like right before Noah's flood I'm pretty sure." So then we were like "this would be a good time to record a video of us being news reporters. So we had a fork ๐Ÿด and spoon as microphones ๐ŸŽค and we started rehersing our little news report on the porch... then Brother Biddle appears with a leaf blower and I kid you not we made a news report while our ward mission leader blew us with a leaf blower to pretend it was raining real hard.

If you believed missions were boring you were wrong.

We also visited Debi, Brother Schmidt and Judy, and the Hewlets who are my number ️.

Tuesday sister Hewlett came and got us and took us to Cinnamon Tree Cafรฉ for breakfast for our last hurrah with Sister Simpson before she left. We had some FANTASTIC CREPES. And just... sister Hewlett is my bff. Then we transferred and I got HNA Jones and let me tell you what went wrong... everything... that's what. Most (like literally more than half) of the mission is either training or white washing or white wash training. We did a lot of problem solving. *straightens my superhero cape* We also almost took a lil' road trip down to Orlando but then we didn't have to. #Blessings. BUTTTTTTTTT the best part of the day was when I got to talk to Baby Hart and grand baby Staten on the phone because they are now in my zone. Oh man. Tears were shed. That evening we had dinner and a meeting with bishop and sister Hellums and the elders who are TAKING AWAY MY GHETTO. but it's fine. I've forgiven them. Sorta.

Guess what bishop got us? You guessed it.... frosties! ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ

Wednesday L had his baptismal interview which he passed. ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ We also introduced him to the elders since he's in their area... let's just say when I was backing Hermana Jones out of her parking spot he yelled to me "Sister Reid... I'll miss you." *cries... then cries some more* ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ "don't worry friend... I'll see ya around." We also taught a nice lady named M who we sang for. Then we taught C, then T, R, and J. Then later that night we taught Sister Davila.

Thursday we taught A... who we dropped. Then we FOUND some Mormons turned Baptists. They were actually SUPPA nice and happy to see us. We were talking to them and this guy was mowing the lawn and he was all "don't tell them where I live." And then they proceeded to give us directions to his house. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ We then taught B and C who gave us ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ท Costa Rican tortillas that they made. ๐Ÿ˜‹ Then we taught T and did some dishes. ๐Ÿด๐Ÿด๐Ÿด๐Ÿด๐Ÿด๐Ÿด๐Ÿด Then we taught the Orbans. Then we taught Sister Chilcott then Brother Schmidt and Judy.

Friday we weekly planned. I had my birthday party at Ritters with Brother Westcott. ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‚ Its tradition that Brother Westcott gives the missionaries that come to NSB birthday parties at Ritters. I was #Spoiled. Then we weekly planned. That night we taught a lady named Debbie and Then Brother Clausen, Angel, and Bri. They are my most favorite ever. I love them.

Saturday we taught our new friends Jenny then Jason then Robert. Then we met a less active named Cassie who I'm probably going to be best friends with. That evening we ate dinner with Sister Johnson and Sister Pyles and they hooked us up with some delicious food. Then we taught the Sebastian family. Oh what a good day it was. Elder and Sister Corder came to do apartment checks and they brought me a toaster and some happy birthday napkins. Haha #SoBlessed

Sunday I turned 20. We went to church. They sang to me in correlation... then again in ward council... #Blessed  we then went to a choir meeting and then another meeting with he elders to make sure they take care of my area. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ but it's fine. L unfortunately wasn't able to make it to church which means we have to postpone his baptism to October which I was pretty bummed about but that's okay... Then we did some good solid studies. I don't know if y'all know this but the Bible is rated R. Then we went to the Steflik's for birthday party number two. They made me CAFE RIO SALADS AND OH MY GOODNESS IT'S BEEN A YEAR SINCE I'VE HAD HOT RANCH. *passes out* then they brought out a cake *passes out again* oh my... we put on party hats and God loves me so much. Then we taught the Hewletts who, as always, have me laughing until my cheeks hurt.

So at the beginning of the week I was all stressed, but in the words of Brother Adler #ImTooBlessedToBeStressed. Sister Steflik took us to get some good old Yellow Dog Eats. #OhMySoBlessed and we are going to go see the beach later.

I'm happy and healthy and hope everyone is doing swell. I love y'all more than Kip loves technology.

Out of context quotes:
Did you just quote Satan?

"He looked sister Quist and I on Facebook and he thinks we're beautiful... he's also blind."

"I'm on a jeep?"

.Clear your head".... "that's gonna be hard"

"It's been a few more than seven months since then..."

"I would always save them and give them to my lunch lady."

This week was pretty much the best.

Ok so I can't even talk about how crazy this week was because there's simply not enough time. We had forty...yes FORTY lessons this week. What even is life? ๐Ÿ˜ณ I am exhausted, but in a good way. We basically didn't have time for meals and just ate when we were in the car driving to appointments. #GodIsGood #TheNSBwardIsSoGoodToMe #ImInAHashtagMood #SorryBoutIt

So transfer doctrine came! Sister Simpson is LEAVING ME. rude. ๐Ÿ˜ญ I'm staying in New Smyrna and Hermana Jones is going to be my companion!! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป she's the coolest so I'm not even mad. Since our ward is hopping' they're putting elders back in... THEY'RE TAKING AWAY MY GHETTO.... I'm not real thrilled about it. The ghetto is where I do my best work. ๐Ÿ˜Ž #IDidntChooseTheThugLyfe #TheThugLyfeChoseMe so now I'm just going to cover the Port Orange half of the ward.

Butttt it will be good because #GodIsHasteningHisWork and my friend Elder Skidmore from Syracuse is coming to NSB.

Also, S/o to my my trainee, Sister Hart, who is TRAINING next transfer! #ImGonnaBeAGrandma #MamaIsSoProud she's also white washing a new area in my zone so you'd better believe we're going to go on all the exchanges. I'm so excited I kinda wanna cry.

Sooooo what do I even say about this week?

Monday we taught Jennifer and Diana. They told us about how terrible the vet is...k... Don't worry I taught them about Jesus. We also FOUND a less active we've been trying to find for a while. He was just chillin' on his porch while we were driving down the road and the spirit was all "go talk to that guy." So we did BOOM! #YouCantHideFromTheSisters ๐Ÿ•ต๐Ÿป After that we taught Rod.

Tuesday we had a real good time at Habitat for Humanity. I almost bought some cowboy boots because I miss dressing up like a cowgirl but they were a half size too small. ๐Ÿ˜ญ after that we taught Doug, Sister Wilson, Edward, Gino, and the Fraleigh's. Then after the Fraleigh's the Doans (our favorite people) were all "do you wanna go to Taco Bell?" And I was like "you know the way to my heart" and shed a tear. And then in taco bell we met a guy named Mark that we picked up as an investigator. #TacoMark ๐ŸŒฎ๐ŸŒฎ๐ŸŒฎ after that we taught Sister Clausen and Angel and Bri. When they opened the door the girls screamed because they were so excited to see us. It made my heart happy.

Wednesday we taught Bobby. We had the most awkward lesson with Quinn. Why are YSA boys so hard to teach? I have lost my YSA touch and now only know how to talk to the oldies but goodies. Hahaha then we taught Tammy and then the Orbans, Andrew, Kurt, a sweet little 89 year old lady named June who asked us to fix her coffee machine... We were like excuse me but dats bad for you ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿผ but we fixed it anyways. Then we taught brother Warner and then had the BEST LESSON EVER WITH THE WIND FAMILY. Last week Sister Steflik came to an apt with us and they were running late so sis Steflik was like "you wanna knock some doors?" And then she took us to her old house and we just knocked on the door and she was like "hi I just wanted to stop by and see if you are liking the house and oh also, these are missionaries from my church and if you want them to teach you more they can." Well we went back and THEY ARE SO SOLID I CAN'T EVEN HANDLE IT. I was sharing first vision and the Spirit was think and oh man if you only could have been there.

Thursday we had ZTM and I gave a lil training on being positive, obedient, PMG missionaries. Then we taught Sister Gruber, Sister Chilkott, then had dinner with Bishop and Sister Hellums. Then they came with us to Sister Sutton's who we taught INSIDE HER STABLES. I got to pet the baby horses. You don't even know how excited I was. She also told me that next time I come over she'll let me wear some cowboy boots and pretend I'm a cowgirl. Don't even worry I won't ride the horses. But oh man it was fun to be on her lil farm. Then we taught Sister Nicotra and Bishop and his wife got us frosties.

Friday we weekly planned. I'm not counting but I only have 30 more weekly planning sessions.... Just sayin'... We also taught Quinn, had dinner and planted pineapples with the Cintron's. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ Then we taught Judy and Brother Schmidt and then we taught Brother Clausen.

Saturday we taught Leigh, then Jackson. Then we went to a funeral and Sister Simpson played the organ like a boss. Then we taught Brother Silver who taught me about his generator... Because I've been wondering about that... Haha he's my favorite. We taught Brother McCasslin who let me play his guitar. ๐ŸŽธ I did a nice lil private gig for Bro McCaslin and Sister Simpson. If you want tickets to my next one LMK. Then we taught Gino who has TWENTY children. Then we taught the Sebastian family the plan of Salvation and those kids are incredible. Jr. Is and we are teaching him so he can get baptized soon. They are the sweetest family.

Sunday we got to go to stake conference WITH NONE OTHER THAN ELDER Jร–RG KLEBINGAT OF THE SEVENTY WHO I HAD MEETINGS WITH A FEW WEEKS AGO AND.... mm... It was basically the best stake conf. I've ever been to. We got to go to a cool meeting for investigators and recent converts. And then the meeting was...Let's just say he painted the picture of what judgement is going to be like beautifully and I may have shed a tear. Also, I've served in THREE of the wards in this stake so it was just a great big reunion with all my friends in all the wards. It was INSANE. I got to sit by Michelle from DeLand and my heart was oh so happy. After stake conf. We had the BEST RESTORATION LESSON EVER IN THE ENTIRE WORLD WITH VALERIE. She came to stake conference and LOVED it and then we were teaching the restoration and she kept BACKING UP everything we taught with scriptures FROM THE BIBLE. The Spirit was so strong. Holy. Then we taught Donny and told him he needs to read his scriptures. Then we taught Tim. Then we went to Elijah Pie where you eat pie and do family history work. Oh my it was a beautiful Sunday.

Today I am emailing late because we went to Aunt Catfish's with the Doan's and I had some clam chowder on the Halifax river and I couldn't have been happier. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป Then we came home and Bishop came over and gave us blessings and he gave me the coolest blessing about how I fought in the war in heaven and how I'm not going to have any down time on my mission. Guess it's time to get busy! Then they took us to get frosties.๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ

Also, can't even believe that I turn 20 this week and I hit my year mark next week. I'm turning 7 in case you were wondering.

That's all folks. Until next week.

I love y'all more that Floridians on the river love sea food.

Out of context quotes:

"One time my dad got pulled over and had to take a lie detector test."

*John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16*   "Wait.... The deer's name is John?!"

"I think he has one of those pee in a bag things"

"Wait... Start Treck is the reason we're less energy efficient indoors?"

"I would always save them and give them to my lunch lady...
... I thought you were talking about the drugs still"

"WHO THE HECK IS BART!?"

"everything I've learned about drugs I've learned from the addiction recovery videos."

Lou.. You have to chew your food before you swing a trophy fish.

Well... It's Monday again! Time for your weekly update from your favorite Floridian.

I don't know how to even explain this week.

This week we had a HUGE HURRICANE. The streets flooded, the trees fell down, I lost all of my belongings, the power is still out, and my companion now only has her left shoe and we are living off a box of wheat thins and water.

That's a lie.

We got some average rain and slight wind. It wasn't even exciting.

Here's how my week went.

Monday we had P-Day. Then we had dinner with a family named the Lobrots. Then we taught Brother Randolf who showed us some really old Books of Mormon. And then we met a lady named V who was a lil drunk and ironically asked us to call her Gin.

Tuesday. Let me tell you. We started out our day at Habitat for Humanity. Then we went over to see someone we had met last week named S. When we knocked on her door she came out and said "I'm sorry sisters. My husband won't be receptive. When he saw the pamphlet you gave me he told me to "throw that garbage away." I hid it in my purse and read it in the car. BUT THEN he came out of his house and started talking to us. He thought we were the COOLEST and asked if he could pray for us that God would help us in our missionary work. Then he invited us to come in and S just shrugged her shoulders and we were all "what the heck?" ๐Ÿค” So we go in and sit down and he explains he probably wouldn't have talked to us, but he was in such a good mood because that morning he had been reunited with an old friend... Well come to find out that "friend" hadn't planned on going to work that morning but had felt prompted to.... And here's where it gets good.... His "friend" just so happened to be Brother Adler who is the gospel principles teacher in our ward. What?! Then D decided he'd call Brother Adler and say "guess who I have sitting on my couch?" Hahaha Brother Adler was shocked and we all had a good laugh and I now have a little bit stronger testimony of God's choreography. D and S told us we were welcome to come back any time we want. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž

We also got to teach L on Tuesday. He told us September 24th is his EOS day... We were all like what ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ he told us EOS stands for "end of sinning!" Haha he also told us he had a JFG... A "Job For God." Somebody needs to write a book of Lamar quotes.

WE ALSO taught the F who we picked back up as investigators, and then we taught M in the parking lot of Taco Bell. ๐ŸŒฏ๐ŸŒฎ✌๐Ÿป️then we taught Sister Dielman.

Wednesday we had DM. I gave a spiritual thought. ๐Ÿ˜Ž We met a less active who has a not-so-nice Catholic wife who was less than thrilled to see us. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™„ We taught T and Sister Simpson fixed her fan. Then we taught C B, B W, and the D.

Thursday we road tripped to Orlando for MLC. We had a follow up on what we learned in our meeting with Elder Jรถrg Klebingat last week. It was a good time. That night we were supposed to stay in because of the "hurricane" but nobody told us that so we taught Sister Chilcott and then Brother Schmidt and Judy. Word. ๐ŸŒช๐ŸŒช๐ŸŒช

Friday we did some good old weekly planning... Then we had dinner with the Wells and a lesson with Brother Clausen and his girls Bri and Angel. They are the funniest. We had planned to show the video Shiney Bicycle but as were pulling up the video Angel says in her sassy voice "is this the video about the red bicycle? Because I've seen that a thousand times." Sister Simpson and I looked at each other like no... ๐Ÿ˜ถ so we scrambled and found a different video. Haha

Saturday we taught L the restoration, we met W and S and taught them, we had a slam dunk 10 commandments/law of chastity lesson with L. We also read him the baptismal interview questions. My friends. L is golden. He could get baptized tomorrow. At the end of the lesson L looked at us and said "Sisters you don't know what this means to me. If you could only see where I've been then you would understand how much this all means to me now." He then told us some crazy stories from his crazy life. He told us about how one day when he was selling drugs he said a prayer. He prayed that God would free him from his addictions and that he wouldn't be held captive by it anymore. Five days later he was arrested for selling some drugs to an undercover cop. 10 years in prison for $20 worth of drugs. He told us of some of experiences with God during that time and some of his experiences after he was released. Then he bore his testimony to us that he knew God lived, that God has a plan for each of us and that he is so grateful for the opportunity Christ gives us to be forgiven and to be made free.

"Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God."
-Moroni 10:32

My friends, God lives.

After L's lesson we taught Sister Muller. Then it started to rain harder than it even did during the hurricane and I got soaking wet. Don't worry I ran through the puddles and had a good time. We taught Brother Silver, then Sister Swainer, then we had dinner with the Wrens. Brother Wren plays Santa every year. ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿป He is the coolest. They made us some salmon and bacon-wrapped shrimp kabobs. ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿค
We taught a lady named Diana, and Jr. Who is a 9 year old grandson of a lady in the ward that we are going to work with so he can get baptized. He is the cutest.

Sunday we had our morning meetings, we had church and it was really good. I wasn't going to bear my testimony since I spoke last week, but 12 year old Cheyanna who got baptized last transfer kept looking over at me from across the chapel and then finally she mouthed "are you going to go up?" I mouthed back that I would go up with her if she wants. And she nodded. Haha we went up to the stand and she kept telling me how nervous she was. We both bore our testimonies and I was just so pleased with her example and for her commitment to the gospel. By friends, never miss out on a opportunity to share your testimony no matter how nervous you are. Weather it is in a testimony meeting or with a friend, or on social media. Someone out there needs to hear it.

After church we taught D and his mom C... C told us she actually WAS baptized into our church years ago and she forgot. Hahaha who forgets they got baptized?! ๐Ÿ˜ We had a nice lil chat about the Book of Mormon and she was so excited because she has read the whole Book of Mormon and loved it in the past but had forgotten about it. She was SO EXCITED to read it when we gave her a new copy. We also had a lesson with a guy named Z and dinner with the Steflik's who are my FAVORITE. ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ• then we contacted a media referral named T. T loves Jesus. I love Jesus. We got along pretty well.

Then we contacted his neighbor who was missing his two front teeth and was sharpening his ax.... Florida is weird.

This morning I finished the Book of Mormon again for the ninth time. Every time I finish The Book of Mormon and read Moroni 10:3-5 I take Moroni's challenge to ask God if these things are true.

They're still true my friends. They're still true.

I know without a shadow of a doubt that God loves each of us for us. He doesn't want us to try to be someone else, only to become our best selves. I know that Christ church has been restored in its fullness today with all the blessings of a modern day prophet and modern day apostles, temples where we can be sealed with our families forever, and with additional scripture that is meant to help solidify our testimonies of Christ. I know that the the gathering of the 12 tribes of Israel has begun and that The Lord is hastening His work. I feel so blessed to be a part of it. I know God lives. I know He loves us. I know this is His work.

This is the last week of the transfer. Saturday we get transfer doctrine and Sunday we get to go to stake conference with none other than Elder Jรถrg Klebingat! #DoubleBlessed.

I hope everyone has a fantastic week! S/O to my homies Shawn Pilkerton and Amanda Wall who have birthdays next Sunday! I love you both lots!
