All grown up

Today was an all grown up day. It made me feel old, mature even. I went to the high school with one of my friends, to get our pictures taken, and to find all of our classes for the year. It was fun seeing lots of old friends I haven't seen all summer. We were in awe at how huge the high school is compared to our little junior high. We wandered around the halls for a few hours, and I think I finally got the hang of it, after getting lost, and turned around a few times. Then after we toured the school I drove my friend home. I! ME! Yes ME, I drove! (Have no fear, my mother in the passenger’s seat) That in and of itself makes one feel old. Then I drove to the post office to drop off some books, then to work. WORK! It was my third day at work. It was good. I contemplated how I am old as I was facing the shelves. So there you have it. That little girl that was scared to cross the street until she was seven, and was the shyest person in the entire universe (I'm no longer shy) Is now going into high school, and working two jobs. This is crazy stuff. Even I think that!

P.s. So I miss homecoming by 3 days! 3 DAYS! I turn 16 14 days after school starts, and 3 days after homecoming. And am I going? Nope! :) It wasn't that hard of a decision, mostly because I haven't been asked yet. But if I do get asked, I'm proud to say I will not go. And that was my decision, not my parents. :)

Good nights at the gym

I love great nights at the gym. When the tumbling is great; your having fun with team mates, and coaches; and you are hitting new stuff, and fixing old mistakes without frustration. Tonight was one of those nights.

Now if your not a tumbler, this next part that I write will probably go strait over your head. You can skip it if you so desire.

So today I started on double mini with Teriyaki, and Stirfry (an my nickname is white rice... We sound like a Chinese meal together! Haha) I am so excited for double mini this year! I connected my spotter tuck, tuck barani for the first time! I was super excited about that! (I just barley connected spotter tuck, front tuck last week) on double mini I did my 3/4 back to Cruise. I just got that last week and it's getting better. I also got my strait barani better on tramp. On floor I rocked the one turn of whips I got, and rocked skills. I fixed some of the mistakes I've been making recently, and my coaches are happy with me. I did a ton of fulls and am slowly working towards getting them high enough for doubles for next year. I worked stuff into pit for the first time in a few months and that felt great, until I hit bottom because the pit wasn't fluffed. Then after tumbling we had a long parents meeting about stuff I already knew.

Today was a great day and I had a blast with my team mates, and coaches, and everyone seemed to be in a great mood. I wish every workout was this great!

Remember how I had the best Summer ever?

13 days left of Summer.
I want it to be more than 13 days.
I have tumbling tonight.
I can't find the chalk board paint.
 My EFY counselors are dating.
Its really sunny outside.
This was pretty much the best summer ever.

Remember how I went to that family reunion, and played spoons for hours?
Remember how I went to EFY, wrote a letter, and cried when it was over?
Remember how I went to youth conference, and the bishop photo bombed with the hoarse head?
Remember how I competed at Nationals, and the sky was purple and orange at night?
Remember how I love my team, and how we prayed at Nationals?
Remember how I went boating, and I learned how to wake board?
Remember how I slept at the gym, and how we read scriptures, and watched Stick It?
Remember how I went on 4th year hike, and lived off what I carried on my back?
Remember how I hiked 20 miles, and wore socks, and sandals for the first time?
Remember how I watched the Olympics, and was inspired by the Magnificent Seven, and the Fab Five?
Remember how I went to girls camp, and we did log yoga?
Remember how I started work at Bowmans, and can reach the top shelf with only 1 milk crate?
Remember how I read the best book ever, and did it in less than a day?
Remember how I went the ward swim party, and I wore my new swimsuit?
Remember how I made this blog to document it all, and just love posting?
Remember how I had the best Summer ever, but know there are still good times ahead?

The power of prayer

#14daysuntilidie  <----------- The hash tag back to school countdown.

So Id just like to tell you how much I love my Sunday school class. We have so much fun in there. I was just thinking about how great it is. And I hope you're all jealous now. Because it's just that great!

So today I worked (coached) and it wasn't too bad. My kids listened pretty well and that is always a plus!

So I think I have mentioned it before, but my coach, Ashlie, is going on a mission, and she is leaving in about a month. I'm excited for her, but we will miss her dearly. One of my Teammates & Ashlie's best friend, B, just told us (even though I've known for a while) that she is moving in two weeks. I am Extremely sad about this. Though I know I will still see her, I want her to stay here. I don't think she realizes how much she has changed the gym, and the team for the better.

So several months ago I had some team mates that wern't making great choices in life. Truthfully, they where horrible decisions in my opinion, and I could literally feel the spirit leave when I was at tumbling. I didn't know what to do, Tumbling is such a huge part of my life, but I knew I didn't like the feeling I got when I was there. I started to pray to my Heavenly Father. I thought about one of my younger teammates. She is the youngest to compete with the upper levels, and I felt like I needed to be better friends with her, so she didn't have to listen to some of the conversations. We became buddies, and she started to talk more to me.
The feeling I got at the gym was still pretty bad. I prayed some more. For a while nothing happened, and I was seriously wondering if I would have to quit. I knew I could not continue coming to a place where I could not feel the spirit. I prayed a lot. Then things started to change.
One day I came to the gym, and one of my team mates that was making these not so great decisions had quit. The other team mate now had no one to talk to about her not so great desisions, so the conversations got better. That was an answer to my prayes, I had no idea that this same prayer would continue to be answered in ways I couldn't immagine.
B joined us, and B isn't afraid to share her testimony with anyone. Over the past few months 1 o my team mates has gotten baptized, and my coach, Ashlie, moved in with B. one day Ashlie told us that she was going on a mission! We where a little shocked, but so excited for her! She has since gotten her call to Santa Rosa, California. Now the conversations that where happening in the gym where polar opposites from what they had been several months before. On our Nationals trip B planned a temple trip to go do baptisms. It was such a neat experience, and I'm so glad we did it. Durrin our stay in Cali for Nationals B would say things to us like "remember who you are! Choose the right!" things Mormon mothers often say to there kids. At Nationals before any of us stepped out onto the floor for warm ups our whole team got in a circle and said a prayer. That was such a great moment for me, knowing what the gym had been like about a year before. How this never would have happened If B hadn't come to the gym. The Nationals prayers didn't stop there, there where many more prayers said throught the week, and in weeks to come. From me they where mostly prayers of thanks.
Since Nationals things have just fallen right into place. B got one of my teammates to read the scriptires, and go to church, to get on his way to a mission soon. She gave another team mate a book of Mormon. And this last week at the sleepover we read scriptures. AT THE GYM! The feelings I have in the gym now, are polar opposite from what they used to be. We have joked that we should just paint a giant CTR on the wall and write "Mormon Tumblers" on our leotards.

Looking back on this whole experience I know B was an answer to my prayers, and I'm so sad to see her move, but I know she will be back, and she is probubly being called somewhere else, to fix something that she doesn't even realize is brocken.

B I you ever read this I just want you to know I love you and you have no idea the impact you have had. Remember who you are and choose the right! We will miss you <3

Feel my Sunlight

Sunday thoughts... And some tears

Holy emotional Sunday...

So today they released our young women leaders. It was sad. (I wasn't too attached to the Mia Maid leaders because they just recently redid the Mia Maids, & we already had to say goodbye to our other ones.) But it was really hard to say goodbye to the other leaders. I have some great leaders and some great memories with them. And I think it's kind of cruel that they released them right after camp. But I'm excited about the new leaders & can't wait to get to know them!

So today there where some tears at church. During young women's we basically had leader testimony meeting starting with Lori and going through all our old leaders. I cried. A lot. (I've always thought of myself as not a cryer... And I'm not... But recently I've learned about myself that I'm not a cryer unless I have to say goodbye... In that case I'm a bawler.)

So, after we heard from all our old leaders our new leaders bore their testimonies. I am excited to get to know them!

So in the middle of all this the young men walk into the room (and of course we are already all bawling and thinking "why today?") So the young mens lesson was on appreciating womanhood. They where going around and finding their moms, and each of them told their moms how much they loved them, and how much their moms mean to them. It was so sweet... And I cried some more.

You always hear (or read on pinterest) that "the best way to see how a guy will treat you, is to look at how he treats his mom." the whole time I'm thinking "they will be such good husbands!"

So after that we cried some more & had to hug our leaders and say goodbye. It was hard. (I realized people always tend kiss my head... Always my favorite people, and always like the top of my head... Is this just because I'm short, or do people do this to everyone? But I know when they Do it means a lot to me.) So we said goodbye, and I came home and cleaned my room for hours while listening to all my EFY music on replay.

I'd just like to say thanks to my leaders. You've been great to me an you have taught me so much these last few years. I have some great memories and will never forget them. You are such great examples to me. Thank you so much for all you have done. I love you!

P.s. guess who is close to finishing their personal progress??? This girl!
