blogtember day 2 (because starting with 1 is overrated.)

One word. Redundant. That's what I feel about my day today.

So remember that whole Blogtember thing I was supposed to start yesterday? Ya I promise I didn't forget about it. I simply had this fantastic idea that since the prompt was "where are you from" I would upload all these photos of me from my childhood. I spent a long long time going through old pictures, even longer trying to take good pictures of them (with my iPod, so you can all imagine how great they turned out, and even longer trying to figure out how to get them all from my iPod to my blog. (My blog app wouldn't let me upload that many, and apparantly you can't copy and paste from the "synched with phone" feature on facebook.) I tried and tried and eventually got so frustrated I turned off the computer and went to bed, therefor, no blog post.

But the rules did say there are no rules, so I am now making up the rule that I get to miss the first day. (Atleast it's not something too important like the first day of school right?) So here is day 2.

Wednesday, September 4: If you could take three months off from your current life and do anything in the world, what would you do?

If I could take three months off from my current life (I am going to add here that money is limitless in this situation, and also that it is summer. Because EFY happens in the summer.) I would probably spend a portion of it attending sessions of EFY and the other portion of it in other countries volunteering at orphanages around the world. That's about it.

Now, because this isn't actually true, I now have to go get ready for work. I promise to give you a better post tomorrow. I feel like this one is slacking a little, but I'm out of time. I love you all! Go read your scriptures!

Brown Sugar confidance

Whew! Twice in two days! I'm on a roll! (or trying to play catchup for the whole week I missed. Which ever you prefer.)

So I just decided I am going to do Blogtember. I think it will be fun. Only, I think I'll skip the whole 'coffee thing' since you know, I'm Mormon, and we kinda don't do that. (Maybe I'll make myself some hot chocolate or something.)

Right now I'm sitting at the sunny yellow computer desk (Just for your information, it's more fun to blog when the desk you are sitting at is yellow. It just is. I kinda love yellow right now and I hope you all go buy yellow desks because they are just that great.) So I'm sitting at the yellow desk and realizing just how truly blessed I am. I have great friends, a great family, and am loving life right now. How much better can it get? Also, this greatness is playing in the background--------> click here! or here! or here! or here! or even here! (seriously, what happened to this greatness? I mean, their new stuff is so not virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy. And that stinks because this stuff is prime. #Jobrolife #Jonas)

I just got back to a 16th birthday party for one of my best friends named Marissa. I love you Marissa! Happy Birthday! You rock my socks!

So this post is going to be short because it's midnight and my bed is calling me. But I just wanted to share this awesome video with you, because I think it's great.

I don't know how many of you know this about me, but when I was little I was the SHYEST person on the face of the planet. Like, people would ask me what my name was and I would just stare at the ground and not answer. I know this is hard to believe because it's almost the opposite of who I am now, but I just remember being so shy and hating it.

I've come a long way since then, and my confidence didn't start to come until I began to realize who I was. In the words of Sister Dalton, I began to know who I was, and whose I was. And that made all the difference.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to go to girls camp. On Thursday night at girls camp we had planned to have this awesome spiritual night with this awesome motivational speaker. Unfortunately, our speaker had a flat tire on the way up and had to cancel due to the fact that there was no way he would be able to get there.

As soon as I heard the news I had the feeling that that meant I was supposed to teach, and that I was supposed to teach brown sugar. (I will explain what that is in a second) I went to my friend Reagan and told her about the situation and asked her if she would teach it with me. (She went to EFY with me and new Brown Sugar.) She agreed and we started to freak out.

We had an impromptu meeting with the YCLs, Bishop, and Young Women's Leaders about what we should do. I volunteered and my heart pounded. As I started to volunteer I remember thinking "what the heck are you doing? You are supposed to be shy." But the funny thing was, there was no shyness, just excitement.

A few minutes before we were supposed to teach we walked outside to have a peptalk and to say a prayer since we had had no preparation on this whatsoever.

We walked in and sat down just in time for the opening song. "How firm a foundation" I remember singing the words of the third verse and having them hit me hard.

Fear not, I am with thee; oh, be not dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid.

I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,

Upheld by my righteous, upheld by my righteous,

Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.

I was going to be just fine. We stood up in front of two whole wards and we taught and everything went perfect. It was awesome to know that even though we hadn't had time to prepare, we were prepared to teach when the time came.

This experience helped strengthen my testimony that God will make weak things strong.

And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.
                              -Ether 12:27 #humblebees!

Now I said I would tell you about brown sugar, so here it is. This was a method of scripture reading that we learned at EFY so here it is.

Brown Sugar

So imagine your mom puts a big bowl of plain oatmeal in front of you. How would react? (eh...ewww!) Now what do you do to make the oatmeal taste better? (BROWN SUGAR!) Now say your mom pours lots of brown sugar over your oatmeal, now how would you react? (YUM!!)

The Scriptures are sometimes like oatmeal. If you are just reading they can be a little bland, but if you add brown sugar, they become sweet.

How to add Brown Sugar to your scripture study.

1. Say a prayer that the Holy Ghost will be with you.
2. Read the verse.
3. Pick a word or phrase that sticks out to you.
4. clarify the message.
5. How does that relate to you?
6. What is a measurable goal that can help you apply it to your life?

I am obsessed with brown sugar and I challenge all of you to try it. It has brought me so much more knowledge and love for the scriptures and It is awesome. I have a testimony of brown sugar. I also have a testimony of the scriptures. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

eternally changed

Well my friends, I survived schoooool!! (The first week at least). And I am so glad it's Friday.

It's hard to keep up a blog with Honors, AP, and CE classes. Especially when I don't have any classes where I just sit at a computer the whole period like I did last year. That is, except for CE digital media, where we actually made blogs for class. That was kinda fun. CE digital media is kinda the best class ever, I mean, we made blogs for crying out loud!!!

So I am sitting here at the sunny yellow computer desk at 10:36 at night planning on writing a blog post. Lets see how this turns out.

This week has been crazy. And by crazy I mean stressfully phenomenal, dreadfully stupendous, hopefully wonderful, excitingly tiring, newly tedious, and strangely not that bad. I actually love most of my classes and I got some pretty dang good teachers this year. I am predicting it is going to be a fantastic year and I can't wait.

I learned something this morning while I was reading my scriptures. (5:30 am scripture study is where it's at! Brown Sugaring it up! By far the sweetest part of the day.)

In 1st Nephi 3:29-31 Laman and Lemuel are visited by an angel, and immidiatly following the angels diparture they begin to go back to complaining and begin to revert to their old ways.

I sometimes wonder how many times we do this in our own lives. How many times do we have a very spiritual experience that seems to change us, but then immediately revert back to our old ways when trial comes? How many EFY sessions, treks, girls camps, and youth conferences experiences have "changed our lives" but, in the end leave us unchanged? How many times do get home from church and begin to block out everything we felt that day?

I think this is something we could all work on a little. There is always room to change, but we must remember to remain changed when the wave hits. We must be able to not just remember what we felt, but to feel it again and again as the rocks begin to crumble. If we strive to hold on, how much easier it will be to hold our ground in this crazy war of life.

I often joke that I wish I could just go to EFY all year long instead of school because I love the atmosphere and everything about EFY while I'm there. But I think we can create that same kind of atmosphere in our daily lives if we are doing whats right.

I was once told that I should make the week after EFY the greatest week of my life because that's when I get to apply what I learned. If you have ever been to EFY you know that the week after is always the hardest week because that is when you are thrown back into the world of immodest clothing, bad language, idleness, and temptation. When you are thrown back into a world where the less virtuous choices are easiest and sin surrounds you. But I truly believe that we can see an angel, and be forever changed by it.

I decided to make this my goal for the next week. (and forever hopefully) To always be remembering and having spiritual experiences and not sitting and waiting for next years EFY to have another one. When I was baptized I was given the gift to have the constant companion of the Holy Ghost. Why on earth would I want to only use this gift every once and a while?

I have a testimony of this gospel and it's changing powers. I know that it is the only true church and that it can change lives. I know that if we strive to live what's right, we will be forever changed.

On an entirely different note, please take a second to look at this picture. These girls are from all over the nation. They are all from different teams, and they are supposed to be rivals. But regardless of all of that they still support one another and have peptalks before competition. I think the world needs a little bit more of this kind of awesome.

forsaken week, and the first day of school

I'm sorry I've forsaken you this week, I really am! This last week was crazy fun and jam packed with awesome. I could blame my lack of posts on that, but in reality, I was just lazy when it came to posts. Sorry.

So this last week I did a few things in my final attempts at living it up in my last days of summer. I mean, I went to the temple! I know that's not most peoples idea of "living it up" but it's sure mine! It was the highlight of my week just as it always is.

It was also my cool sister Danielle's 15th birthday on Sunday. Here is a picture of her with a fry that looks like a hat from her birthday dinner. Happy birthday beautiful sister of mine!
happy birthday Danielle!!!
I also had the opportunity to run The Color Run 5K in Salt Lake City with my dad and one of my best friends Lauren. That was so much fun! They aren't kidding when they say it is the "Happiest 5k on the Planet".

We got covered in colorful cornstarch and my hair (as well as my armpits, and pretty much everywhere else on my body) turned an awesome sickly color of green. I washed my hair 3 times before realizing my hair was going to need special treatment. When talking to Amberleigh (one of my super amazing EFY counselors, whom I love lots and lots.) days before going to school I realized that there was a large chance I would be going to school on Monday with green hair, I also realized that the situation wasn't going to change, but the way I looked at the situation would determine what I made of it. I thought of a quote by Marjorie Pay Hinckley...

The only way to get through life is to
          laugh your way through it.
You either have to laugh or cry.
         I prefer to laugh as
crying gives me a headache.
                         -Marjorie Hinckley

While I wanted nothing more than to go to school not looking like I had dip dyed my hair in pureed green beens, I knew that I needed to have a positive attitude, or I would ultimately have a terrible first day of school. I decided then and there that I would laugh about it.

Now, I tried everything. Lemon juice, baby oil, hot oil treatment, 8 time shampooing and conditioning my hair, and lotion. Oh, and a few prayers. The lotion and the prayers helped the most and I was so blessed to go to school this morning with BLOND HAIR! I was more than pleased. So if you ever get green cornstarch in your hair that dyes it green, put lotion in it and start to pray. Ha

Me, in the truck, about to drive myself to my first day of Junior year. Crazy stuff.

So like I said, today was the first day of school. It was surprisingly one of my better first days of school that I've ever had. I was not happy about ending my summer of fun, but I think it will be a pretty good year this year. (I mean, when you have a volunteer from an outlying district, that's something you can't ignore. #namethatmovie) But it really was a darn good day. I mean, I had TWO missionary experiences at school today and it was only the first day of school. Life is good. team mates make things fun. School is good. I hope tomorrow brings the same amount of joy as today did. Go read your scriptures, say your prayers, remember who you are, and so on, and so forth, and whatnot, and what have you. I love you all!

I have learned

I’m not sure where this post is going to go so I guess we will just flow with it and see where it ends up. It has been a nonstop party for the last three days and I have had a lot to think about. Last night I had a talk with an old friend. I had had a talk with this same friend exactly a year before, the subject the same, but the circumstances very different. We learned this year that the world hits us and it hits hard. We learned that things aren’t always what we think and that we are stronger than we previously thought.
I learned over this last year that my world doesn’t float on a cloud and that that cloud thought I was floating on wasn’t a cloud at all, but a deceiving mist that would soon bring a reality check. I learned that boys aren’t needed to be happy, in fact, they sometimes make you very unhappy. I learned to ignore the taunting about being a part of the VLs and never have been on a date. I learned to accept the fact that the world doesn’t always bring a piece of cake; sometimes it brings a table spoon of “grape” flavored medicine. While this medicine may not taste remotely of grapes, but the tears of small children, it is the only thing that will make you better.  It is the only thing that will make you stronger, and we could all use a little more strength to face the world. I learned that sometimes people are put into your lives for a reason, and sometimes they are taken out of our lives for another reason. I learned that having fewer friends makes you appreciate the ones you do have much more. I learned that sometimes the greatest friendships only last a week, yet still last a lifetime. I learned that there is a lot more to life than the pictures you post on Facebook and that the things people pin on Pinterest are both unrealistic and unattainable, and that they certainly don’t matter in the long run. Because the things that actually matter in life aren’t things that you pin. They are things that you feel. I learned this year that you don’t go to parties to be more popular, you go to parties to strengthen your relationships with the people in your life. I learned that a party can be 5 girls in pajamas in the morning. I learned that people aren’t always who you think they are and sometimes their actions will surprise you. I learned that sometimes people are kind and sometimes the world is good, and that sometimes people are EXTREMELY kind and sometimes the world is EXTREMELY good. I learned that blogging is a very good way to get things off my chest. I learned that while I may not be the greatest singer, and that nobody would ever want to buy my album, I should sing anyways. I learned that guitars can be the most comforting when used correctly. I learned that country music and sunshine make everything feel all right. I learned that fake isn’t fun and that rude isn’t respectable.  I learned to accept the fact that not everyone feels the same as I do and that it isn’t worth it to try to impress everyone. I learned that the things I want the most are things the world would laugh at. I have had my worst days, and I have had my greatest days. While I learned many things this year, the thing I learned about the most is that the greatest work we could do is the work of our Father in Heaven. We have a great responsibility. Let’s get to work.

Last day of school

city creek a the beginning of the year

Well, this is it. One year later and there are no more tears. Our last day of school has come and I couldn't be happier. It is a very different feeling than last year. Last year consisted of mushy gushy feelings like THIS and, THIS. But today I don't think I will cry at all. To tell you the truth I still long for my Jr. High days because they tasted so sweet, but nevertheless, life goes on.

It has been a good year. If you would have asked me at the end of last year what I would have thought this year would bring I would have a very different answer than what really happened. I would have thought I'd at least gone on one date. I thought I would just have a million friends, I didn't know quitting theatre would have such an effect on my social group. Though some of this year has been bitter, It wasn't all bad. I wouldn't have thought I'd have gotten this close to my small group of friends and I wouldn't have thought I'd have met my childhood idol! This year has proven to be great for our little group of 5. I eat lunch in the park every day and I drive a minivan to school. Boys don't talk to me much, but the ones that do mean so much more to me. It wasn't what I thought it would be, but it was good nonetheless. Now I can't wait until summer!

Kellog's Tour. BEST DAY EVER!
Now while my time at the school wasn't my favorite, the time at the gym was. This year there has been a few changes and I am now one of the oldest. I have made many close friends this year that I have never had with anyone from tumbling before. I have become much better friends with my Co-workers and we have a blast every day. I can always count on them to pick me up when school doesn't go the way I plan. I know I made the right decision to continue in this and not theatre, even though it was difficult. I love you guys! And Stirfry, you will make a fantastic missionary! We are so proud of you!

So I don't know where that leaves me. Back in the gym I suppose? After the initial pool party, the burning of the homework, and the inevitable sun burn I guess I’ll find myself back in the gym 4+ days a week and blogging often. I’ll attend EFY, girls camp, 4th year hike, trek, National Championships, and possibly EFY again this summer, but other than that you will find me in the gym. It will be one of the greatest summers ever, but then again, every summer is the greatest in my book.

Thanks for a great year guys! See you next September!

Almost going to go insane

Well my friends, It has been four days since I last wrote. I know you have all been sitting at your computers waiting in suspense for me to post. Now where to start?

Lets start with the fact that we are almost done with this school year, when I say almost I mean I am almost going to go insane. I am ready for The Color Run, and mission farewells. I am oh so ready for EFY, 4th year hike, trek, girls camp and the US Power Tumbling National Championships. I am ready for summer training and I am ready to have the opportunity to sleep. These final weeks in school are just painfull. I can hardly focus on anything. Sorry Teachers.

This weekend starts the Elite Challenge. The Elite Challenge is well, just that, an elite challenge. My fab coach, Steph, is competing and is going to do fantastic! Texas had better watch out. We love you Steph! Good Luck!

On that note can anyone guess what next weekend is? That's right! Regional Championships! Whoo! Flipside is going to Vegas! This will be our final step on our road to Kansas City Missouri for National Championships this July. Ahhh! Oh and if anyone would like to help support our team in fundraising for National Championships click HERE. {And no, I am not going to Morp, incase you were wondering, I will be in Vegas.}

I was going to post a cool video here, but I guess it will have to wait until later. I'm at school you see, and at school the fantastic thing called YouTube doesn't exist.

So my mind is pretty much stuck on tumbling right now and I'm pretty sure it isn't coming out. So I will end here. Enjoy this picture of my team being super awesome at City Creek. I am the one on the far left. Admire my perfect handstand.

p.s. Congrats to all of you out there going on missions or getting married! There are lots of you and I am excited. Congrats! I love you all.

Teach

    "If the teacher
does not
                   teach,
 the students
 do not
           learn."
            -Mr. Child
We are at the end of third term and we are on our third science teacher. Our first one quit to go live on a cruise ship and the second one was never actually a teacher, just a long term sub. He got his name on our schedules, but never taught the class. Instead, he gave us study guides and we had to teach our selves. We now have a new teacher named Mr. Child. He has already taught us something {whoa! Teach?!? Now that's something we are not used to.} We might have hope for the end of levels now. Maybe.

So here is my message to all those teachers out there: TEACH! Please don't rely on the book to do it for you. We'd all really appreciate it.

Now back to the whole "end of the term thing". Is anyone else really stressed about their grade in Mrs. Brown's class? I'm pretty sure her goal is to ruin everybody's GPA. Would somebody please bake the pregnant lady a cake or something so she will be happy when she grades our essays? #shehatesus

That's all from me! Have a happy Friday tomorrow! {aka the-day-we-were-supposed-to-have-off-but-don't-because-we-took-a-snow-day-we-didn't-need-and-now-have-to-make-it-up.}

FAQs

{My new facebook profile picture of me on a W... has nothing to do with this post.}
Well... I think it's a little mean that I am at school right now. Can we please go back to hanging out with the Brits? Who's with me? All in favor make it manifest... any apposed by the same sign...

Nobody voted against it now who wants to drive me to Salt Lake? {Except Kodee... he is a scary driver.}

Since I have nobody to drive me to Salt Lake I thought I would write up some of my frequently asked questions and give responces to them. If you have more questions feel free to comment.

Q: "How tall are you?"
A: 4' 9 1/2"

Q: "Are you going to the Olympics?"
A: No. Power Tumbling is not in the Olympics... and I'm not that good.... yet.

Q: {asked by the little children I work with.} "Are you married?"
A: No. How old do you think I am?
A: One kid said 45 the other said 12... I'm 16.

Q: {also asked by the kids I work with} Do you live here? {the gym}
A: No, I live at a house just like you do.

Q: "Can you..."
A: No, I'll be at the gym.

Q: "can you do a flip."
A: Yes I can and no I won't.

So there you have it. I am headed to health now. :/ Post your questions!

funny things and nerdy stuff

Hey bloggy friends of mine! I am coming to you again from my little cubical in computer tech. I am really enjoying all this free time at a computer. So I just thought I'd share with you my favorite conversation with a child as of late. This little boy is about 4 and I teach him tumbling on a weekly basis.

Him- "Teacher, does your TV only play tumbling shows?"
Me- "No my TV plays all kinds of shows."
Him- "MINE DOES TOO!!!"

So I pretty much died. I can't ever get over how funny my kids are even if they are little stinkers the majority of the time.

Yesterday I got interested in family history all of the sudden. I know weird right? It's like old people stuff! But I read about a guy named James Reid...

Birth: Jan. 13, 1816, Scotland Death: Jun. 18, 1886 Smithfield Cache County Utah, USA Son of John Reid and Mary Murray
Married - Elizabeth Cumming, 29 Dec 1843, Kilmarnock, Ayr, Scotland
Children - James Reid, Elizabeth Reid, George Reid, Mary Reid, John Cumming Reid, Louis Cumming Reid, Margaret Ann Reid, Isabelle Reid, Robert Reid

History -

When James was age two, his father was lost at sea near Indonesia. Forty years later James embarked on his own ocean voyage across the Atlantic. James, his wife, his mother, his step father and his half brothers, all departed Scotland bound for Salt Lake City. They reached present-day Wyoming by August, giving them plenty of time to reach Utah before snow fell. However, at Ft. Laramie, a bounty hunter mistaking him for a dangerous outlaw, shot and seriously wounded James, forcing the family to stay at the Fort for several weeks. After James began to recover, the family joined the Willie Company's ill-fated handcart journey across Wyoming.
His birth death dates for James are confirmed by his obituaries.

Spouse:
Elizabeth Cumming Reid (1824 - 1910)
Children:
Mary Reid Lindsay (1851 - 1929)*
Robert Reid (1867 - 1947)*

Now isn't that exciting? Shot by bounty hungers and his dad lost at sea! My family is pretty cool. Ya so I know what you are thinking.... what a nerd blogging about family history AT SCHOOL! Ha ya call me what you will. I enjoy it.

Please enjoy a picture of the first Apple computer that I had to coppy, paste, and email to my teacher for my test. Tricky stuff.

life of a tumbling coach

After I read THIS POST over on The Life of Bon about how much she loves her high school students it left me thinking about how much I love my students. {Though mine are much littler, and I don't teach them grammar....since I lack the knowledge myself.}

I teach tumbling. I believe it is the best job out there. Now there may be people who disagree with me, but I bet you would feel different after you spent some time with my kids.

Yesterday one of my 4 year olds ran  to me with the biggest smile on her face and says "WHITNEY! I brought you a present!" he then hands me a piece of gum.  I call this little one Jellyfish since she wears skirts that make her look like a jellyfish when she jumps. If I were to pick favorites she would definatly make the list. As would the rest of her class, along with my Wednesday intermediate class. These kids have been working so hard. Every single one of them learned there power hurdle roundoff today and am stoked!

1-Student learns a big new skill especially when it was a struggle for them.
2-Hugs... there nothing like love from a 3 year old.
3-When the kids have intense excitement about what we are doing. His name is Whitten and he brings me joy.
4-GOOD BEHAVIOR! {this does not include bringing your naughty 4 year old to the gym a half hour early and let her run around the entire gym expecting us to babysit her! We have classes that need our attention for crying out loud!}
5-And lastly, watching them grow.

In the short few years I have been teaching I have watched y kids grow up so much and I can't help wonder who they will become. I wonder sometimes how much of an impact I could have on these kids and it makes me think about what I have to offer them. I truly believe that the greatest thing I could give them is love. I have had kids that have come from foster homes, a girl with epilepsy, and a girl that could barley walk just to name a few. I have had some kids who have had it hard. I will never forget standing by the trampoline and watching the girl who struggled walking jump on the trampoline without falling. My kids have given me way more than I could ever give them. They have taught me about courage, they have taught me out working hard, they have taught me about patience, they have taught me about victory. They have given me enough love to last a lifetime. <3

I'd also like to do a quick shout out to my team mate Stirfry. Double mini was rough and I don't know what I would have done without you today. Thanks for the support.

All snowed in

Okay so here's the thing. I live in Utah. Utah is known for our snow. I am currently in my Sophomore year in High School and never in my 10 years of schooling have we ever had a snow day. Ever. The closest we have ever gotten to a snow day was a massive wind storm that blew over massive trees, destroyed garages, tipped over semis, and blew To Kill A Mocking Bird books past my English teachers window. But that's a different story.

So Utah has never had a snow day in the 10 years I have been in school... Until Today. And I couldn't be happier!

Yesterday it started to snow. Nothing Utah hasn't seen. People began to post things on Facebook like "Why can't we have a snow day?!" and "If you cancel school tomorrow I will never miss another day of church." With all of these posts I was thinking "ya right! We live in Utah for crying out loud! There is no way they are closing the schools." This is not to say that I wasn't secretly hoping myself.

This morning I woke up at 7:04. That is about 11 minutes before my friend Carina usually picks me up to take me to school. I panicked. Why hadn't anybody woken me up? As I started to scramble to get ready I decided to check my phone. My dad had texted me telling me that our school district had canceled school and to stay in bed. I was ecstatic! I ran to my sisters room to make sure she knew. We talked for a bit and I headed back to bed.

It looks like the kid who promised to never miss another day of church has just made a covenant with the Lord. The moral of the story is: be careful what you wish for. God just might be listening.

p.s. This storm got me out of a guitar recital today! I am a happy person.

End of the World

So since the world is "ending" I decided I write an "end of the world post.

#1- Okay confession. I don't believe the world is going to end, however, I do fear for the people who do believe. Even more so do I fear for the people who believe, and don't know what happens after death. That would be scary. I also do not fear to go to school tomorrow as many do. There has been many rumors about "bomb threats" and "gun threats" circling around the school, and the gym. I believe that if they are true, then the school district, and police officers will do their part to keep us safe. I also do not fear of dying if it is true, because I know that If I die it is my time to die, and that I will be going to a much better place. So there is my two cents on what I think about tomorrow, AKA December 21st, AKA the end of the world.

#2- So today I PASSED MY DRIVING TEST! YAY! Now I just need to convince my parents to let me get my license, and to buy me a car.

#3- Tomorrow is the last day before the break and I am so stoked! But I am also very angry at how terribly short the break is. Tomorrow is also the service assembly and that means short classes. Double bonus!

#4- I recently had to close a book. This book is a very popular book and was recommended to me by many of my friends. It was a horrible book, and I never would have been able to live with myself if I had continued reading. Maybe I am a "molly Mormon" but if the world ends tomorrow I don't want that on my "record". I then gave the book to my mother and she was shocked at the content as well. It is now on sale for $6 on Amazon.com.

#5- I need to do laundry really bad. And am avoiding it the best I can.

So there ya have it folks. I hope we all live through tomorrow. I also hope we don't kill Facebook while we are at it.

Whoever had the idea.... I hate you. {a weekend story}

This is my new favorite picture

This weekend was the best kind of weekends. It was a long weekend. We headed to a condo in the middle of no-mans-land with best friends to forget everything and take a break from life. We played guitars, we sat in the hot tub, we laughed, we had a photo shoot, we sat outside under the moon in the most perfect weather, we talked about boys, and school, and spiritual stuff. We ate some home made pizza, and danced around the kitchen to the sound of Taylor Swift. We went to church, and fit all 13 of us on one bench, We sang some songs, and most importantly....
 we made memories.
Now whoever had the idea that we should all go back to real life..... I hate you.
But hey, Next weekend is TOFG with these lovely ladies in the picture, and the weekend after that is State Camp with my team!
So all I can say is I <3 the weekend.

p.s. Reading Shakespeare is bringing back so many memories, and I can hear voices playing in my head, and I want to go back. #Theaternerdatheart #Imissit

"Nobody cares what you do Vick"

As I sat in a certain class (you know the class where the teacher quit 3 weeks into school, so now we have a new "sub/teacher") We have been talking aobut goals, and future careers. It made me think. I have wanted to be the same thing since 2nd grade. I have written the same thing down on every paper that every school counselor has ever given me. Well guess what! I already am that thing. But it made me realize just how much further I could go with this job. It also made me question wether or not I really want to do this for the rest of my life. Don't get me wrong, I love it a lot more than my other job. I do love it a lot, but the thought of work in an hour makes me cringe. Mostly because I'd rather sit home and blog. Don't get me wrong, I am thankful for both of my jobs, but I favor one more than the other. But this class, and all this talk of work scares me. Because I don't know exactly what I want to do with my future. And every teacher, and every school counselor wants to tell you what you can and can't do according to the end of levels you got when you where in kindergarten (okay this is a little extreem, but not far from the truth) So I just put something that sounds inteligent down so they will stop questioning me, and move on. Because in reality, what counselor is going to come to you in 7 years and say "why aren't you doing the same thing that you said you wanted to do in 7th grade?!" NONE! "Nobody cares what you do Vick" {name that movie!} So there is my rant about work, and now I am headed to work...then I'm headed to my other work. OH JOY! {sarcasm intended.}

p.s. That quote was from Stick It. Teri, I sure hope you got that! :)

p.s.s Who else is super ready for the weekend? I seriously am so excited for conference.

Sweet 16! Never been kissed & proud of it!

can anyone guess what today was???

anyone???

Today was my

BIRTHDAY!!!!

...and not just any birthday...

TODAY WAS MY

SWEET 16!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY!

Since you are all dying to know, here is a rundown of my day. Starting with my alarm. Today was latestart so I had the luxury of having school start an hour later than usual! So I slept in, then my mom made stuffed french toast. (two pieces of french toast, with creme cheese, and rasberries inbetween!) It was delicious! Then Carina came and picked me up for school and there was a giant present sitting in my seat. Here was the process of opening it.

Card....
So it was a process to open, and it took me almost the whole ride to school. Inside was a cute scarf (that just so happened to match my outfit that I was whereing EXACTLY! tourquoise, pink, and green! haha stalker!), sweetish fish, and iTunes money! Thanks so much Carina! Love you!
So 1st period- Biology... Its great... we talked about dead things/ living things and pretty much made this once living birthday girl dead with bordom. But I talked with my friends, and they made it all better.

2nd period- Guitar! I enjoy this class. Nobody knew it was my birthday, except the cute kid who sits next to me, because I told him... yup that's pretty much how guitar went...
3rd period! My favorite class! Can you guess what it is??? That's right! SEMINARY! Ah I just love seminary. My friend Hannah is in that class and exposed my date of birth to the teacher. The class sang and my teacher said happy birthday to me about 64 times. (okay maybe not quite that many.)
LUNCH!!!
The best part of the day! See, my friends and I eat lunch every day in the park at our bench. I eat on the ground in the nice green grass and it's just perfect. My friends sang happy birthday to me, and my dear friend Katie brought me home made peanut butter bars!!!!! They where super duper delicious! THANKS SO MUCH KATIE!!! Love you!

4th period- Honors World Civ. So you know that class where I have to write in cursive, in pen? ya, that's this class... But since yesterday was constitution day we where in the autatorium (which by the way just got brand new comfy seats this summer!) listening to a lawer talking about law. It wasn't too bad and I learned a lot.

After school I came home and had an hour before work. I spent the time replying to facebook post.

At work my kids where just perfect angels! They where so good today! It was fantastic! Ah! I just love my kids when they behave! So stinkin cute I can't even get over it!
So after work I came home and opened presents from my family. Here is what I got.
Kellogs Tour of Gymnasics Championships!!! ROW 18!!!
a desk! I finially don't have to do homework on the floor anymore! YAY
These cute boxes full of clothes, and makeup!

I also got a darling lime green chair to go with my desk (it isn't in my room yet, so I didn't take a picture.

  • From Skyler I got a peace sign lanyard for when I get a car someday (haha)
  • From Danielle I got candy, and some darling earings.
  • and From Miki I got a super cute neclace to match the earings Danielle got me.
  • from my cousins/aunt & unkle I got a super cute purse
after I opened presents we headed to Robintinos for dinner. It was yummy! After dinner we went back to my house to eat cheescake. My aunt and cousins came over, then later the Daniels (also my cousins in a way) came over. Lauren and I talked, and talked, and I still have more to tell her. My young womens president came to bring me a cute necklace that the laurels made for young womens today, and to wish me happy birthday.

My grandpa called to wish me happy birthday, along with my unkle Kenny.

Now it is late, and I am sitting on the laptop on my new desk writing this lovely post. Pondering what music I should buy with my iTunes money, why I don't feel any older, and basically life in general. I have one thing that would have made my birthday greater. I am actually quite bummed about, even though I know I shouldn't be. It involves two people who I love quite dearly not posting on my facebook wall. I know silly right? But these where the two people I was most looking forward to reading. One is one of my best friends, and one is a past EFY counselor. I know silly right? But seceretly every time I get a facebook notification, I hope its one of these two people. And low and behold, nothing. But that's okay because 61 other people have posted on my facebook wall thus far. Not to mention on my moms picture, or instagram. So I know that I am loved.

Tomorrow my best friend Carina and I are going to lunch! YAY! :)

So there is the story of my 16th birthday. Never been kissed and proud of it! No date planned (*wink, wink*), and I feel exactly the same as I did yesterday.
